Dave Stirling currently serves as Vice President of the Pacific Legal Foundation, and Director of its Free Enterprise Program. | Mr. Stirling served as Chief Deputy Attorney General between 1991 and 1998. In the November, 1998, general election, he was the Republican nominee for Attorney General. | Prior to his service in the California Department of Justice, Mr. Stirling was a Superior Court Judge in Sacramento County. | From 1983 to 1989, he served in Governor George Deukmejian's administration as General Counsel of the Agricultural Labor Relations Board, where he was twice confirmed by the State Senate. General Counsel Stirling is credited with bringing a fair and even-handed application of the Agricultural Labor Relations Act to this historically controversial agency of state government. | Mr. Stirling was an elected Member of the State Assembly from 1976 - 1982. Prior to his service in the Legislature, he was in private law practice in Southern California. He also served as a member of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, appointed by Governor Ronald Reagan. | Dave Stirling holds the distinction of being the only active Californian to serve in top level positions in each of the three branches of California state government, as well having experience in the private practice of law.
