"Rakan bin Williams". That was my first thought upon hearing that several Albanian men had been arrested and charged with planning a terror attack on Fort Dix. (Early reports indlcated 6 Albanian men were arrested; it appears now that one of the men was Turkish and one was Jordanian.)
Rakan bin Williams is the "prototype" for Al Qaeda?s next generation of terrorists whose goal is to target Europe and the US. Global Islamic Media Front introduced us to Rakan bin Williams in November 2005, and has reminded us several times that he is the new breed of terrorist that we will be unable to defend against.

Let's take a look back at that first posting where Rakan bin Williams was introduced:
Rakan Bin Williams is the next Al Qaeda soldier.
You can't watch him, you can't restrict his movements, and you cannot stop him.
He will shake the land under your feet and his hands will be responsible for the fall of your empire, Allah willing
Do you think I am crazy? Who is Rakan Bin Williams?
They are a group of your sons who were born in Europe from two European parents, and were Christians who studied in your schools, and enter your places, and know your psychology, and they go to your churches and celebrate mass on Sunday.
They drank wine, and ate pork, and persecuted the Muslims.
But Al Qaeda brought them in and they embraced Islam and hid their Muslim religion and soaked up the Al Qaeda thought and promised Allah that they will carry the flag of their distance brothers and seek vengence on the evil doers.
They blend into the streets of Europe and they streets of America and they plan and watch and observe.
Are you ready to meet them, Blair?
But are you ready to meet them, George W. Bush?
This isn't the first instance we?ve had where terror arrests have swept up individuals who met the profile of Rakan bin Williams. Last summer?s arrests in the UK, where a plan to blow up airlines using liquid explosives was broken up, included a number of European-born Muslim converts.

Much of the profiling that goes on today focuses in the stereotypical Middle Eastern male, the classic image drawn from years of Hollywood movies. And Al Qaeda is quite cognizant of this. So their explicitly stated goal is to recruit and inspire terrorists who do not fit the profile, knowing that a blonde haired, blue eyed female is much less likely to trigger suspicion that a young man with a classic Middle Eastern appearance.
Albania, part of the former Yugoslavia, is a European country, and Albanians by and large look like other Europeans. Although photographs have not yet been released of the men involved in this terror plot, since the men are described by law enforcement as ?ethnic Albanians?, it is likely they are not of classical Middle Eastern appearance, but instead look very European.
Al Qaeda has a history of telling what they are going to do, and then following through to do it. They have explicitly stated that their goal is to use terrorists who ?blend into the streets of Europe and the streets of America?.
We've already seen several instances of this.
We need to listen to what they are promising, and learn how to defend against it. CRO
