Three Lies to Leno
Gore Only the Latest
by Steve Finefrock - Hollywood Forum [scriptwriter] 3/29/07

Such a target-rich environment we have before us conservatives, akin to tank commanders’ description of theoretical battles in the Fulda Gap in Europe, should the larger tank forces of the Soviet Union confront our M1-A1 models.  A kill ratio of at least eight-to-one would be required for us to overwhelm the commie hordes.  The tankers’ response: Aw, it’s just a target-rich environment – more stuff to shoot at!

Founder of Hollywood Forum, a speaker-bureau and panel-discussion vehicle to "Bring the Potomac to the Palisades" on issues that overlap politics and culture with the Hollywood film-TV influence on such national concerns. His scripts have addressed politics [including a TV series pilot/bible package about state political combat, called "A State of the Union"], hazardous materials [from twelve years in emergency management, including six years managing FEMA's Superfund curriculum for hazmat], terrorism, equestrian reincarnation, serial murderer killing journalists in the nation's capitol, and fantasy about time-wasters.[go to Finefrock index]

Al Gore’s lies in his latest screed is the latest entry in “documentary” efforts to suffer some belated deflation; a self-described lefty couple has finished a documentary on Michael Moore, discovering him to be the snot-faced, turd-lipped liar we on the right knew him to be – for his first screed, beloved by the left, is found to be a full-blown lie.  “Roger and Me” was predicated on the insistent theme that Roger Smith, CEO of General Motors during a massive downsizing, was refusing to meet for an interview with Moore.  Thus the chubby chief camped outside offices, mansion gates, restaurants and anywhere else his clan suspected they could ‘catch’ Roger and force him to fess up.

Problem?  The two lefties found in their searching Moore’s menadacious files – given full access since it appeared they were ‘friendly’ documentarians – the Roger Smith Interview film!!!!!!

Yes, Moore had in fact achieved a Roger-and-Me interview early in the filming effort, but lied, LIED, LIED in order to pursue his premise.  And not a single “inquiring mind” of the NY Times or LA Times or Variety reporting staff suspected their friendly fat-faced director was a liar.  As they had done nothing to challenge Gore.  It’s part of a pattern, which we, the “tankers” of the right cannot attack without media “help” of some serious level, and must keep reminding ourselves is part of the battle.

All across the fruity plain of just plain loony liberalism is a potful of targets of lies.  It starts with a slush-fund raised by the DNC and deposited to the amount of one million dollars – when that was a hefty sum – in a bank account in January 1929.  Its purpose: to trash the reputation of the incoming president Hoover.  By June they’d found their predecessor to Carville and Begala and Emmanual and Shumer and Pelosi, etc. Though the stock crash in October pretty well did in ole Hoover, the million still got spent, until the lies were so numerous, a best-seller came out in ’31, “Why are people lying about Mr. Hoover” and included a false accusation against the First Lady: she was supposedly driving like a maniac around the capitol, nearly killing folks on a regular basis with her reckless efforts.

And this before the internet!  Along the way we find the term added to the national vocabulary, “credibility gap” coming during LBJ’s term of office.  And remember Martin Sheen’s favorite cause during Reagan’s term: the Homeless?  That clan’s chief mutterer, Mitch Snyder, claimed there were ten million homeless and they were at least 75% families – but the truth was, the number was around a million at most, and 90% were classic ‘bums’ that we all have known so well.

Ditto for feminists’ claim that 100,000 young women died each year from anorexia – a lie cited to a study at the CDC, which strained painfully for years to stop reporters from using this lie.  This was one of many such lies, purported by feminists with the aid and comfort of the NY Times, et al, which comprised Christina Hoff Sommers’ book, “Who Stole Feminism” – which reflected only one-fourth of what she’d discovered.  Among the lies was the canard that SuperBowl Sunday was dangerous for womens subject to abuse.

And so it goes, as it went, and thence came Gore, claiming sacred immunity to querulous questioning.  As Moore has enjoyed for “Roger and Me” and feminists and homeless advocates and potful of other liars since that million dollars of 1929 cash started the ball rolling.

A few items to remember, including those of you on the left or sympathetic to the left, when we doubt “proof certain” proffered by saints of the left, such as Moore and Gore and the potful of other freewheeling liars with cameras and editors and friendly film reviewers, not to mention friendly congressional committee chairs.

So many targets, so little ammo – but pass the ammo anyway, even if we are outnumbered, and the media as ‘referee’ is regularly guilty of Penalty Blindness [and blandness].  We soldier onward, even as the next lie is being edited in some Hollywood studio, doubtless to be narrated by Charlie Sheen or Al Gore, and friendly reviews galore awaiting its release.

As Jay Leno failed utterly to identify Gore’s three lies in two sentences when promoting his film, so shall the liberals continue.  Gore claimed that the new, compact fluorescent bulbs were almost as cheap as regular bulbs [Lie #1] and were five times as efficient [Lie #2].  Then said, sometime they would be as cheap as regular, incandescent bulbs [#3].  And not challenged, that info went to millions who trust Leno like he was the world’s honest man.  Thence I knew the film would be a lie, and it would not be challenged by anyone in Hollywood – just as with Moore’s films, and all which has come since that million dollars financed patent lies against Hoover.

Only the latest in “Hooverizing” our people, our message, our philosophy [ask Goldwater!] for decades.  A target-rich environment, indeed.  – RE-LOAD! CRO
